Sweet Confusion is the story of seven friends who gather at a beautiful countryside home for a day of reunion and reflection.

It’s upstate New York. Present day. Adam, twenty-nine, lives just outside a forest in a modest yet charming old house that he has spent the last year renovating. His recent success as a screenwriter means that he can now afford to live as he’s always wanted to: on his own, privately, apart from the world yet on the doorstep of natural glory.

He’s invited six of his friends from high school – many of whom he hasn’t seen in years – up to the house for an informal reunion. Nothing spectacular happens on the day that these friends reenter one another’s lives: they have lunch… hike to the nearby reservoir… play charades… stroll beneath the stars. But their simple activities are infused with self-consciousness; old heartbreaks, crushes and insecurities resurface as the group is confronted with the residue of their adolescence.

Sweet Confusion is a story about our best attempts to make sense of life, to locate ourselves even with a lack of clear definition. It is a story of people craving, resisting and finding solace with one another — making a home in what can feel like an inhospitable world.
